Online Latin and Ancient Greek Instructors

The Paideia Institute is seeking instructors for our Living Latin and Greek Online High School Summer Programs and for Elementa Online, our online Classics course for elementary and middle school students. Ideal candidates will have experience teaching Latin or Ancient Greek as active, spoken languages, as well as experience teaching the relevant age group.

Living Latin Online High School Instructor
Two-Week Summer Program.

Living Latin Online High School is an intensive online Latin experience designed to improve high school students’ Latin reading ability by introducing them to the use of Latin as an active, spoken language. Living Latin Online High School instructors will meet with a small group of students once a day for two hours Monday through Friday, for a total of ten small-group sessions, using a combination of in-class spoken Latin and the Paideia Institute’s Living Latin curriculum. The course is intended to supercharge Latin students’ Latin over the summer in preparation for advanced courses, standardized tests, or entering college.

Living Greek Online High School Instructor
Eight-Week Summer Program.

Living Greek Online High School is an intensive online ancient Greek program designed to introduce high school students to ancient Greek. Living Greek Online High School instructors will meet with students for one hour a day Monday through Thursday for eight weeks, for a total of 32 sessions over Zoom. This course covers the basics of Greek grammar aiding students through the Paideia Institute’s self-paced online Greek textbook, in order to prepare students to read and discuss authentic Greek texts. The program teaches Greek both via the traditional grammar translation method and via active language pedagogy, which gives students the opportunity to speak ancient Greek as a living language.

Elementa Online Instructor
Fall and Spring Semester-Long Courses.

Elementa Online is an online course in introductory Latin for elementary and middle school students using Paideia’s Elementa curriculum. Elementa Online instructors meet with a small group of students for ten weekly, hour-long classes over video-conference, for both a Fall and Spring Semester each year. Topics covered include Latin vocabulary and grammar as well as Roman history and mythology. Instructors will also connect students with Paideia’s Elementa curriculum online materials, including instructional videos, quizzes, and other learning materials.

Curriculum Sales Manager 

The Paideia Institute is seeking a Curriculum Sales Manager to promote its digital and print curricula in US elementary and secondary schools. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with the teaching of Latin and Ancient Greek on the elementary and secondary level, an understanding of how schools adopt curricula, and retail and institutional sales experience. The position is remote, but the sales manager will attend conferences around the country. Compensation will be commensurate to experience. The expected start date is January 1st, 2023.
